The Pastoral Ministries...

The Visitor's Ministry

The Visitor's Ministry from its inception in 2003 was a sub-committee of The Shepherds for Christ. In 2005, under the blessing of Fr. Martini Shaw, the Visitor's Ministry became an entity on its own.

Purpose:
The ministry members welcome the opportunity to greet all visitors after church service, invite them to our Coffee Hour, and answer any questions they may have about St. Thomas Church. We consider it a privilege to have them worship with us.

Telephone contact with visitors is an integral part of our ministry. The chairperson assigns members to make follow-up calls to visitors who have worshiped with us. Each call allows us the opportunity to reach out on a personal basis. We inform them of the marvelous ways God is working in our church and invite them to consider St. Thomas, if they are in need of a church home.

The Visitor's Ministry has helped increase the membership at St. Thomas. Many visitors have joined, others have transferred their membership and many have reaffirmed their faith.

Goal:
The goal of the Visitor's Ministry is its ongoing commitment to serving God through evangelism and inviting our visitors to consider joining and experiencing the spiritual life at St. Thomas.

Who may join?
The Visitor's Ministry welcomes anyone interested in serving in this capacity.
